Our Holiday meeting was a huge success!   Many thanks to everyone who participated and also to folks who provided additional door prizes.   The baskets were wonderful and congratulations to the winners.

November 8th meeting is Sensory Practice.  A great learning session of wine appreciation 101.   Practice makes perfect so lets see how much you can pick up from a wine's aroma/bouquet.   Starting at 7 pm.

News:  AWS Conference event news:   We have an individual who has reserved  a room at the Kalahari Resort  but will not be able to attend.   Anyone who still needs a room must get back to me by Wednesday 10/25.

Learn how to make wine and participate in our new barrels from beginning to end.   Check back for dates and times.  

Barrel # 1:   Is a red blend of Zinfandel 34%, Petite Verdot 33%, Petite Syrah 33%
Delivery:   Scheduled to receive on Wednesday 10/18 - no action needed
Crush:      Crushing will take place on Thursday 10/19  at  6 PM so come out and have fun.
Pressing:  Normally takes place 7 to 8 days after crush -  Friday 10/27 ( 6 pm) 


Barrel # 2:   Cabernet Franc 90%, Merlot 10% - completed
Grapes delivered: 10/4    - received
Crush:       10/5  at 5 pm  -  completed
Pressing:  Saturday 10/14  at 12 noon - completed

Stew Leonard's Grand Tasting was a success.  They raised $20,000 dollars for charity.  The foundation gears towards teaching kids how to swim.   Saving young lives.  

There were Lots of fine wines to sample. 


There were many familiar faces, along a few AWS members.

Plus, plenty of good food to eat.
