Hello Chapter Members,
We hope you are having a wonderful time with family and friends. Unfortunately, Summer is almost over but we will continue celebrating with an awesome PORT tasting on Thursday September 21st.

We will be pairing White, Ruby, Late Bottle Vintage, Tawny and Vintage Ports   with various cheeses, nuts, chocolates and maybe even a cigar afterwards.

We will have a special guest, Anthony Cannizzo, Port Wine Ambassador for Kobrand Corporation walk us through these amazing ports.

Be sure to mark your calendar so that you don't miss out on this one.

RSVP requested so that we can accommodate accordingly.  Send email to AWS Meadowlands to reserve a spot.

There are two opportunities for tasting:   If you can't make September 21, our friends at AWS Sussex chapter will also host a port night on Thursday, September 7, 2017  - I will personally be at that location as well.

2017 Harvest News
Lodi Winegrape Commission's Stuart Spencer, of St. Amant Winery, says crop levels are light to average across the appellation, the result of an unusual weather year, with an extremely wet winter and spring. He and other vintners expect harvest will be in full swing by mid-August. “Quality at this point looks pretty good,” he says.

Stuart Spencer will again be at the American Wine Society Conference this year.  He does a fantastic job with presentations and will keep you engaged.  Take up one of his tasting sessions if you can.

Why am I providing you with Lodi region harvest news?  This is where the grapes are sourced from and these reports help with your decision making for 2017 harvest.  Click here  if your interested in learning about Wine Making.

This year the feedback has been for us to make make a new blend.

Barrel One:  1/3 Zinfandel. 1/3 Petite Sirah, 1/3 Petite Verdot

Barre; Two:  still open for discussion... what would you like to make?  Send me your ideas.

AWS  Meadowlands
Celebrating our Awesome Wines!   Bottling 2016 Harvest

Our Old Vine Zinfandel and Petite Sirah are phenomenal.  This was another great year for our wines.  No doubt our group will again WIN a few more metals at the local state fair and national amateur wine competitions.

With the help of "The Best Wine Making Workshop in New Jersey" you too can learn how.   With hands-on wine-making sessions you, friends and family members will have a great time learning to make your own wine!   They have just about every varietal for sampling from around the world.   You’ll find them to be better than many store-bought wines.
